Hold You Up

This was inspired by the song "Break For You," by Valley.

We are all broken, torn and flawed

And we are all masters of disguise

Chasms of scars to deep to maraud

Too much for one to correct of revise

There are people who hide it very well,

Hold smiles and say things are great,

But are actually under their own spell,

And often let go when it's too late.

Let you guard down, give me your ugly,

Give me the words and voices in your head.

Allow me in, hold me, when you're lonely.

Give me all the problems that you dread.

Give me your burdens, the weight you hold,

The hurt and pain you hide and carry inside.

I will hold you up when you feel alone,

Take a breath, my love, before you decide

Where you'll go next, what you'll do next.

Let yourself go and let me come closer,

Know you're safe and calm life's affects.

Come, rest your head on my shoulder.

Let me hold you and hold you up

When it becomes too much for you

And you're on the verge of giving up,

Because together, we'll make it through.
