Do you ever get that little voice in your head?
You know, the one that says you’re not good enough?
And you feel like you’re hanging on by a thread,
Or your soul would shatter just with one huff?
Have you ever felt like it’s all for nothing?
The energy and effort you put into all of it?
To keep your mind from crushing
And putting and end to all of this?
When reaching rock bottom feels better
Than trying to keep everything in control
Your mind trapped in metal fetters
With nowhere to run, nowhere to go
When life gets too much, too soon
And you’re about to let it all go
While stuck on an island, marooned,
Breath in and breath out slow
When losing faith in everything you knew
Afraid to be right, ashamed to be wrong,
Remember to not give up on you
Because only you can sing your song
If you’ve been lost and lonely
And people are keeping you down
While you’re the one and only
Please, don’t keep them around
Because they’ll make your life miserable
When they feed your head with voices
To them, you’re a boat that’s sinkable
Be careful, right now, with your choices
Because you won’t find someone like you
So, if it’s the last thing that you do
When there’s no one left to lose
Don’t you ever give up on you
(Inspired by the song “It’s all gonna be ok,” by Brent Morgan)
